Summer is in full swing! The 4th of July is already behind us, and as the back-to-school dates move closer, here are some creative ideas to keep your little ones busy for the rest of summer! There are a lot of fun events at the Houston Zoo, and not all of them are in the heat. The zoo has a new Galapagos Island exhibit that is air-conditioned. In the exhibit, you'll find California sea lions, Galapagos tortoises, Humboldt penguins, and more, keeping cool with frozen treats and water sprinklers.
Some other air-conditioned buildings at the zoo include the Bug House, the Reptile & Amphibian House, and the Great Ape Gallery, amongst others. The Carruth Natural Encounters Building has AC and allows your kids to interact with some of the zoo animals up close with the instruction of a zookeeper. These are held at specific times, so plan accordingly.
